Yajun Melody Lin
ajun Melody Lin was born in Nanjing China, grew up in Vancouver and Los Angeles, later moved to New York and studied at Parsons the New School. During her study, she interned at Public School, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Acne Studios; she also won plenty of competition and scholarships. In 2016, Melody won the Kering X Vogue competition and had the oppotunity to visit companies and fabric innovation labs under Kering, such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Balenciaga.. Her collection was featured on Vogue.com as well at the windows of Saks Fifth Avenue. During the competition, stylist Mel Otternberg discovered her collection during these exposures, and decided to dress Rihanna during her performance in the VMAs with her design.
Ya Jun gets her inspiration from anything and everything. She usually has sudden thoughts, although she might be working on another collection, she will still save her ideas and revisit them later, slowing developing her concept.
