Born 1974 in Japan‘s Kanagawa Prefecture region, Daisuke Obana dropped out of a career college, then worked as both the buyer and shop manager for a vintage clothing store. Obana started the vintage select shop “go-getter” in 1995, where his selection of designer clothing from the 1970s and 1980s started countless movements.

Obana started displaying his original and ‘remake’ clothing in his shop in 2000 and founded N.Hoolywood in 2001. He opened his Mister Hollywood shop to present only his original works. In 2007, he started the N.HOOLYWOOD COMPILE exhibition during Paris fashion week. The year after, his first freestanding N.Hoolywood store opened in Hong Kong. His collection has been presented in New York since Spring/Summer 2011. “When we produce a design, we always try to find an additional yet new value of the design from the past,” Obana said.
