AALTO is a Finnish designer brand, created in Paris by Tuomas Merikoski. He has lived and worked in Paris since 2001, and after graduating from the MA program in IFM Paris has collaborated successfully with several fashion houses including Givenchy and Louis Vuitton.
AALTO, a typical Finnish name and meaning the « wave » in Finnish, was launched on FW15, with an international take on the Finnish origins, its youth culture and esthethics of the designer. The womens ready-to-wear collection is present in the official Paris fashion week calendar since SS16. AALTO‘s approach to the feminine wardrobe plays with masculine details, proportions and elegance with a strong fashion aesthetic. The creative identity can also be described as; Finnish, Contrasted, Arty, Youth, Modern, Raw, Vivid, Elegance, Graphic and Direct.
